Titus Information Systems, Inc.

Clients and Projects

Titus Information Systems has been in business developing both software packages and custom software since 1979.  The following is a list of both current and former clients with a description of the projects completed or underway for those clients.  There are links to those clients with web sites.  The prospective client is encouraged to contact one or more to investigate Titus Information Systems' software development capabilities, timeliness, and responsiveness.

DPC&S, Phoenix, AZ
This company provides quality data management, order fulfillment, and mailing services to both profit companies and non-profit organizations.  Titus Information Systems has worked extensively on the company web site which provides their clients with up-to-date donor statistics and detail data.  The web site is written entirely in HTML and JavaScript, and it interfaces to a Microsoft SQL Server database that contains all the client donor data.  Titus also maintains the data entry, importing, exporting, credit card processing, and automatic daily processing and reporting functions, which are coded in HTML, JavaScript, and Visual C++ with MFC.

Integrated Trust Systems, Scottsdale, AZ
This company was founded in 1985 with a specific purpose of providing American families with a more efficient and cost-effective way to meet their estate planning objectives.  The company has developed a revolutionary estate-planning system that makes high quality estate planning products and services available to end-user clients through an inclusive financial and legal advisory network.

Titus Information Systems is completely responsible for the complete maintenance of this customer's web site and provided a complete rewrite of the site.  This included redesign of the redundant HTML into frames, maintenance of all downloadable files, and administration of the company's email.  Since some of the data collected from clients is sensitive, Titus arranged for Secure Sockets Layer to be added to the web server.

The foundation of the web site is the Online Data Questionnaire, a web-browser-based method of collecting the data necessary to generate trust documents.  The web site grants database access to sales associates, trust attorneys, and individual clients.  Web site administrators may upload completed trust documents which can be viewed by individual clients and their physicians and beneficiaries.  The web site automatically sends email messages to the appropriate associates and attorneys when new trust documents are submitted or notes for existing trust documents are recorded.  Administrators may view, edit, and change the status of all questionnaire records, trust documents, associates, attorneys, and clients.  All passwords are stored with the US Secure Hash Algorithm 1 (SHA1), and all confidential data is stored with the Advanced Encryption Standard algorithm.  In addition to HTML, there were specific requirements for Cascading Style Sheets and a sizable amount of client-side JavaScript.  Most of the web site consists of Active Server Pages written in JavaScript.  The results collected by these pages are stored in a MySQL database.

Using development software acquired through the Microsoft Empower Program, Titus Information Systems developed and installed several small applications that support the Data Questionnaire, both in its on-line and off-line formats.  This software was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET using Visual C++ with MFC.  Using this same software, Titus also developed a Web Site Backup Utility that automatically performs a daily backup of the customer information stored in the web site "Vault" area onto the Windows XP-based main computer at Titus Information Systems.

Since ITS markets primarily to financial advisors and financial management companies, it was expedient to create a method of making the web site appear to be a part of the advisor's company's web site.  This was accomplished by "branding" the ITS web site.  The following links demonstrate this functionality: [ Branded Access | Branded Login | Branded Signup | Branded Client ]
ESDC, Inc., Oswego, NY
This is an independent engineering company providing a wide range of services and products relating to industrial process control systems.  Since 1999, Titus Information Systems has supplied contract programming services in Visual C++ with MFC, character-based C++, Honeywell Assembly Language, and microprocessor assembly language.

Using development software acquired through the Microsoft Empower Program, Titus Information Systems developed and installed software for a replacement interface at the training center of the PSEG Hope Creek Generating Station, a 1059 megawatt nuclear power plant located in New Jersey.  This software was developed using Microsoft Visual Studio .NET using Visual C++ with MFC to operate on the Windows XP-based computer that generates the simulated data points.  This software controls a National Instruments General Purpose Interface Board (GPIB) connected to a Direct Memory Access (DMA) interface board installed in the Honeywell process control computer that operates the Nuclear Power Station Control Room Simulator.  This interface replaced a legacy Encore RSX system, and the customer reports that not only have many errors been eliminated, but also the speed of the interface has been increased.

Titus Information Systems participated in the development of the Aydin Emulation Processor (AEP) by providing the Windows NT based display emulation software.  This hardware and software package is installed in the control room of the BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. Alaska Oil Field and all three control rooms and both control-room simulators at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station just west of Phoenix.  Titus has received a special commendation from BP for extraordinary assistance in resolving all issues related to the upgrade.

Titus Information Systems developed the PC_Typer Printer Replacement Software currently in use at several power plant clients in New York as well as the control room of the BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. Alaska Oil Field.  Using development software acquired through the Microsoft Empower Program, Titus Information Systems upgraded this software to be compatible with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET using Visual C++ with MFC to operate on the latest Windows XP-based computer systems.

Titus developed the PC_PAL Assembler and Loader Software by converting an existing character-mode Pascal program to Visual C++ with MFC and adding a graphical user interface.  Titus developed a replacement DDE Server process for the TCP2000 Ethernet Controller using Visual C++ with MFC.  Titus participated in an upgrade of the Aladdin Technologies Disk System, which required the use of both Honeywell Assembly Language and the assembly language for the microprocessor on the Aladdin board.  Additionally, Titus developed a graphical user interface program for the setup of this Disk Controller.

Deer Valley Unified School District Information Services Department, Glendale, AZ
The school district uses a series of Novell servers for their student computer system.  The login names are too complicated for the younger students to remember, so Titus created an ActiveX module for the Client32 program that accesses the list of names and id's using the COM interface from a Novell server specified in an .INI file, presents the list to the student in a drop-down box, and initializes the user name field.  This module was developed using Visual C++ with MFC.

INTELLIMED International, Phoenix, AZ
This company provides management consulting services to the health care industry.  In the 1980's, Titus Information Systems provided custom reporting applications in Prime Computer COBOL.  When PC's became available, Titus converted these reporting applications to run under DOS, then Windows 3.0, then Win-32.  These were the reports that were too complicated for their in-house programming staff to produce using Advanced Revelation and Power Builder.  Eventually, Titus produced a complete data management system that received data from over a dozen states' reporting agencies, converted that data into a common format, and generated an ODBC database in the format required for the company's ad-hoc reporting product.

During this time, Titus was also primarily responsible for managing the 50-workstation Lantastic network, including installing and configuring the network and Windows software, installing network hardware, hubs, and cabling, diagnosing and correcting network problems, and insuring daily backups were completed.  Eventually, the Lantastic network was replaced with Windows NT servers, and Titus participated in the installation and setup of those workstations as well as modifying the DOS-based software to run with a graphical user interface.  For many years, this company relied on Titus Information Systems to produce their primary money-generating product because Titus was the only company able to get the job done in a timely manner.

In addition to providing network support for the numerous workstations required to house the extremely large databases, Titus Information Systems also provided support for the company email and web servers.  The company email was served with Microsoft Exchange Server, and Titus was completely responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of that Exchange server.  The company web server hosts a variety of web sites, and Titus was partially responsible for managing that server, participating in installation of software, update of web sites, insuring backups were current, and producing a web-based statistical analysis of all web sites using the WebTrends product.

Titus Information Systems also produced several stand-alone products for this company, including a data integrity program using Visual C++ with MFC.  The company is successfully marketing this product to many of their hospital clients in order to increase the accuracy of their required data submissions to state reporting agencies.  In addition to supporting numerous data layouts, the product includes a proprietary installation security module that interfaces with the Microsoft installer.

For nearly twenty years, Titus Information Systems produced over 200,000 lines of code of custom software for this customer.  This software was produced with Visual C++ with MFC, MicroFocus NetExpress COBOL, Fortran, Microsoft Macro Assembler, DOS .BAT files, Advanced Revelation R/Basic, PowerBuilder, SQL, and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in both Word and Excel.  The software operated databases stored in Pervasive SQL, Sybase Server, Advanced Revelation, Watcom SQL, BTRIEVE, comma-delimited files, fixed-field files, and binary files.  Many of the databases were designed, created, and maintained by Titus.  In late 2002, the management and direction of the company changed such that custom software development services were no longer required on a daily basis.  Since that time, the company has requested bids on several small projects, including enhancements to the data integrity product and a facility management web site.

When Intellimed was a client, Titus provided maintenance and programming services for several additional web sites using HTML.  These included Human Anatomy Online, My Health Score, BehCon, and Mission Beach Condo.
